What exactly is conjugated linoleic acid? What role does it play in our health?
Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a fat-soluble vitamin that occurs naturally in the body. It has been found to help reduce body weight and increase energy.
The benefits of CLA are commonly found in dietary supplements that contain it. It is also contained in some commercial fat burners. One type of fat burner that contains CLA is called a coenzyme Q10.
Fat burners are not regulated by the FDA. You cannot find it in drug stores. The only place you can find it is on the internet.
Such dietary supplements are considered to be supplements because they contain something other than the recommended daily allowance. People with medical conditions should avoid taking fat burners because they may lead to severe side effects. Before buying a fat burner on the internet, check the ingredients and the company’s reputation.
Why is conjugated linoleic acid found in fat burners? Most of the time, fat burners will contain it. The main reason is that it helps reduce body fat and increases your metabolism. As a side effect, it can increase your energy level as well.
In order for the body to use these fatty acids, it must first digest it. When it digests, it removes the fat soluble vitamins from the body, which makes your body loses its ability to use them.
There are a number of health conditions that can cause problems when using these products. When your body cannot get the nutrients it needs, you will not benefit from their benefits.
Just like the CLA, commercial fat burners contain trans-fats, which are highly unhealthy. These can raise your cholesterol and increase your chances of getting heart disease. Eating foods that are high in trans-fats is not recommended.
When the body can no longer break down the fat in order to use it for energy, your energy levels will begin to drop and you may start to feel sluggish and have more trouble with chronic pain conditions. Other conditions that can occur include kidney stones, high blood pressure, diabetes, gallstones, and stroke.
Conjugated linoleic acid is beneficial to people who need more calories in their diet. It can be helpful in lowering cholesterol. Unfortunately, it cannot be used by people who have heart or kidney disease or other health conditions.
CLA may help with weight loss, but it does not help people with heart disease, kidney disease, or other health problems. For more information, see my article on CLA. Also, learn more about Conjugated Linoleic Acid, and find out what products are safe to use.
